THE GAITHERSBURG FINE ARTS ASSOCIATION was founded in 1976 as a small group of artists residing in Gaithersburg and has grown over the years to include members throughout Montgomery County. GFAA provides educational programs, promotional opportunities, multiple exhibits during the year, and outreach to local audiences.
NEW CATEGORY FOR THE KENTLANDS SHOW!
Photography & Digital Art
This will be one category. PHOTOGRAPHY is a picture taken with a camera or phone, and possibly modified with digital software. DIGITAL ART is made with the use of software. AI generated art is not accepted and the copyright for the whole or any part of the artwork must belong to the artist!
The Creative Imperative
Join the presentation and discussion on January 11 as Christopher Madden delivers a talk about the creative need artists possess to express themselves in their lives. What do we consider creative? What does it mean to make art? Chris will discuss how everyone is an
artist in their own way and how many things we do in our daily lives can be considered creative time well spent.
Chris will also relate his own art journey to date with his work and philosophy and how he views his own creative imperative. A power point show will enhance the presentation to be followed by a Q and A session.
